The Discover London programme offers the perfect combination of our engaging tuition programme and exciting walking tours. Students will be able to make the most of their stay in the UK.

Students who choose this summer programme will have the chance to experience the sights and sounds of London during our Discover London walking tours. Four full-day and two half-day walking tours show the history, museums, parks and landmarks of the capital. Students will see many sights and attractions such as Tower of London, Greenwich Maritime Museum and The National Gallery.

*18 year olds will only be accepted as part of group and will study with those 16+

Our Docklands English Summer School is located in the University of East London Docklands campus. The Cyprus station of the Docklands Light Railway is on campus providing easy access to locations across the city. There are also a number of London buses serving this area. 

The local area is known for open green spaces and large parks. Getting to London Bridge takes only 36 minutes.

Our English summer school offers a fantastic learning environment, modern facilities and well-equipped, spacious classrooms.

Students will have access to some of the University’s great facilities, such as a the beautiful outdoor area which is perfect for relaxing and socialising with friends. 

Accommodation

Each student staying in the Docklands summer centre will enjoy comfortable and private accommodation with a single en-suite room. There is 24-hour internet access and, at additional cost, self-service laundry facilities are on-site. Students will have access to an indoor communal space where they can study and socialise with their new friends as well as a larger outdoor space. Towels will not be provided at this centre, so students will need to bring their own.

Speciality meal options (halal, vegan, vegetarian, lactose free) are available. 

Students should remember to bring an adaptor (Europe to UK/Ireland) for all their electronic/charging needs.

Our Docklands Centre, alongside London Kingston, is home to our Discover London Programme.

Our programme consists of exciting walking tours to discover the capital, tuition and engaging activities. It also includes excursions to some of the country’s most popular and recognisable attractions such as Tate Modern and the British Museum.                                                                         

Those completing a typical two week programme with us will be able to spend one full day in Cambridge, a beautiful city in the countryside known for the top education its University provides. They will also spend one full day in Brighton, a very vibrant and modern seaside city. The programme  includes four full-day and two half-day walking tours. Students will arrive on Sunday and their first day (Monday) will be either lessons or a walking tour, as the schedule alternates each week.
