London is one of the most famous cities in the world and attracts visitors from around the globe throughout the year because of its exciting attractions. Despite having a reputation for getting a lot of rain, London receives some amazing weather over the summer, making it the perfect destination for a summer trip, and why not tie in a trip to London with a course at one of Twin’s summer centres? At Twin’s Bromley or Carshalton summer schools, you’ll not only get to massively improve your English, but also explore the capital and English culture in the sun!

London is a diverse city with plenty for young people to do, so you and the new friends you’ve made at summer camp will have lots of things to do in your free time. One of the best ways we recommend you enjoy London’s sunny weather is by visiting one of its picturesque parks for a picnic. The most famous parks in London include Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Greenwich Park, and each of these, as well as beautiful scenery, offer plenty of things to do. In Greenwich, you could visit the National Maritime Museum and stand ‘where time begins’ on the Prime Meridian, (which would definitely give you something to tell your family back home!). Or, if you’re relaxing in Kensington Gardens, you could visit the beautiful Kensington Palace, the official residence of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and newest addition to the British Royal Family, Prince George.

Another way to pass time that is much more fun when the weather’s nice is shopping. London has a famous fashion scene and some great shopping hotspots, whether you’re looking for a bargain or a famous designer piece, and, of course, a new season requires new clothes! Take a stroll down busy Oxford Street, browse through designer brands at Harrods or explore unique items at some of London’s famous fashion markets; whatever you and your friends are looking for, London will have something for you. If you’re looking for a day out with a difference, check out Camden; there are loads of unique stalls selling a variety of unusual goods, and there are food stalls from around the world with something to suit every taste.

We’d also recommend a trip to the theatre; this is a great way of expanding your knowledge of the English language in a fun way, and over the summer months London hosts a number of open air theatres, so you won’t have to sit inside and miss out on the lovely warm evenings. Various outdoor theatres offer a range of productions, so whether you love Shakespeare or are looking for something more modern, definitely see what’s on when you’re visiting the capital. If theatre isn’t your thing, there are also plenty of outdoor cinemas and concerts, so there’s bound to be something on for you to enjoy.

Aside from there being plenty for you to do over the summer months in London, Twin’s summer schools each offer their own exciting programmes for you to enjoy, which also means that you get to make the most of the warm English weather and rich culture. As well as activities from discos to talent shows every evening, full day excursions to the capital are included so you’ll get to see all of London’s top sights in the summer sun with your new friends. What could be more fun than an exciting trip to England’s capital with the chance to make lots of new friends from around the world?
