For those seeking the traditional British summer camp experience, there is no need to look further than Dover. On the South coast of England with a rich medieval history, Dover has much to offer international students.

Our summer centre is located at the traditional and historic Duke of York’s Military School in Dover, just a few moments from the coastline and local attractions. Dover Castle is easily accessed by car or coach in five minutes, while the White Cliffs of Dover are only a short journey away, as is the cathedral city of Canterbury, which is only half an hour away. Students can explore the local area and all that it has to offer as well as venture further afield; this programme includes an excursion to London to see the famous sights of the capital such as Big Ben and the Tower of London. Also included is a trip to the city of Cambridge famous for its prestigious university and rich history.

Whilst at the Duke of York’s Military School, students will be able to experience multiple aspects of life in England, from the peaceful and rural countryside to the cosmopolitan and bustling capital city.

Founded in Chelsea over two centuries ago, the Duke of York Royal Military School, which is now located in Dover, has had an interesting history. The school has long established roots in the area and has alumni that have gone one to excel in their specific fields, whether that is music, acting, academia, and, of course, the military. The accommodation and the facilities available at this centre are first-class; with the school having undergone a £25 million refurbishment in 2014, these amenities help create the ideal traditional English schooling environment. On-site, students can take advantage of the campus’ other features including a theatre, gym and climbing wall.

Students can socialise with their new friends and practise their English skills in the common rooms, which are furnished with comfortable sofas and pool tables for ultimate relaxation outside of the classroom. We also provide an exciting social programme with activities for the afternoon and evening so students always have something fun to do.

Accommodation

The accommodation for this centre is residential and on-site. Students will benefit from newly built single and twin en-suite rooms or triple/quad rooms and dormitories, some of the rooms even have a beautiful view of some of the school's green open spaces. All of the rooms are finished to a high standard for maximum comfort and contain a lockable safe for any valuables. There are also common rooms where students can spend their leisure times, practise their English skills and socialise with their new friends.
