Testing takes place on the first day and students are placed in classes according to their knowledge of. English. To decide which class, the Director of Studies will look at the grammatical level of the students, the speaking ability of the students, plus the age and the nationality, and will organises students to get the best nationality mix of similar ages and overall language abilities. Some students have a very high grammatical level but a low speaking/listening level so they may not be in the highest class because they need to improve their speaking and listening skills.
The students will do 3 hours per day, which is 15 hours per week
There are a maximum of 15 students in a class at each level
The Twin English programme aims:
- To help students develop all skills, focusing particularly on speaking and listening.
- To help students build confidence in using and understanding English.
- To help students expand their knowledge of useful and up-to-date vocabulary.
- To help students improve their pronunciation.
- To promote understanding of effective learning strategies to enable students to continue their learning after the course.
- To ensure students develop their language skills outside the classroom and benefit linguistically from their stay in the UK.
The teachers will use a variety methods including pair-work, group-work, discussions, project work, problem-solving, etc., during which students are encouraged to converse in English at all times.
