The school is ideally situated very close to London and the city of Cambridge. It occupies a beautiful site (12.3 hectares which is over 30 acres) on the edge of Saffron Walden.
At only 21 km’s away, London Stansted is the nearest airport, allowing students to arrive at their Summer School Camp in quick time.
Saffron Walden is a pretty market town with old buildings and antique shops and a vibrant historic city centre. It has easy access to Cambridge, London and Oxford. Many of the historic buildings were built in the 18th century and survive today in this town, largely untouched by industrialisation. There are the remains of a small castle, a variety of museums and historic buildings to visit, all just a short walk from Friends School.
It is located 15 minutes by car from Bishop's Stortford and Stansted Airport. The town is just 20 minutes from Cambridge and approx 40 minutes from London. The town retains a picturesque, rural appearance and has many very old buildings dating from the Medieval period onward.
